Privacy Notice for Data Subjects in the Sales Intelligence database

We know that you care about how your personal data is used and shared, and that is why we are committed to transparency around personal data, respecting your privacy and to helping you control the data we store.
In this notice (“Notice”) you will find information about what personal data we hold about you, how and why we collect it, how we use it, and how we protect it. This Notice also includes information about your rights, how to exercise those rights, and how to request the deletion of your personal data.
By "we", "us", or "our" we mean Meltwater News US, Inc., in its capacity as an independent controller of your personal data within the scope of this Notice.
1. WHO THIS NOTICE APPLIES TO
This Notice applies to all data subjects whose personal data is included in our B2B contact database, a part of the Sales Intelligence service (“Service”), we provide to our customers (“B2B Data”). The B2B data is contractually licensed, acquired or purchased, by us from third parties. The B2B Data includes only personal data of data subjects located in the United States.
2. WHY DO WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND HOW IT IS USED
Customers are interested in obtaining the most up to date news and contact details on companies they follow through our Service. Our Customers access our services via our online platform, where they can view the B2B Data matching their queries. Content and search results delivered by us to our Customers, based on their preferences, may include your publicly available or otherwise acquired personal data.
3. WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT
The personal data we collect is limited to the personal data available in public sources, such as news, press releases and blogs, and personal data provided to us by our licensors. The B2B Data includes first name, last name, title of employment, corporate contact information (email; phone number) and employment information, to the extent available. It is not our or our Customers' intention to collect sensitive personal data about you. We do not collect personal data about you to create any profiles or conduct profiling of you as a data subject.
4. HOW WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We receive the B2B Data from our licensors under a contractual relationship.
5. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We use your personal data for the purposes outlined above, and we must have a legal basis to justify these use cases. We process your personal data to provide services to our Customers. The processing is therefore based on our and our Customers’ legitimate business interests. We consider and balance any potential negative impact on you and your rights before we process your personal data for our legitimate interests. We have assessed that our use of this personal data is necessary and is not outweighed by your interests. We have safeguards in place to ensure we do not use your personal data for activities where we believe that our interests are overridden by any unwarranted adverse impact on you.
6. HOW WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND WITH WHOM
We may share your personal data with one or all of the following:
Customers: our customers are typically businesses or organizations looking to enhance their data
Internal Third Parties: these include our affiliates
External Third Parties: Service providers, such as email delivery providers and data storage providers, whose services we contractually engage to provide the services to our Customers.
7. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
We may share your personal data with our affiliated entities. This, as well as transfers to some of the third parties to whom we may transfer your personal data in accordance with this Notice, may involve transferring your personal data to countries outside of the United States. We may transfer your personal data to regions like the EEA or the United Kingdom. Where your personal data is transferred outside of the United States, we do that on the basis of appropriate data protection safeguards, as may be required by different US state regulations, in order to ensure that there is an adequate level of protection for your personal data. Details of these safeguards are available for review in our DPA.
8. HOW LONG WILL WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
We will keep your personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Notice and to fulfill our legal obligations to Customers. The retention period may vary depending on the contractual arrangements we have with the our B2B licensors.
If you request that we remove your personal data, we will delete any content containing your personal data from our services within a reasonable amount of time, subject to our legal obligations to retain such personal data. Please note, as the content is either created by a third-party website or provided by a third party licensor, we may receive new versions of your personal data in the future. We will make every effort to respect your privacy.
9. CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (the "CCPA"), California residents have rights which impact how your information is being processed.
As described in Section 3, we collect various types of personal data about you in order to fulfill specific business, legal, and compliance requirements including the following categories:
Identifiers; and
Professional or employment-related information
As described in Section 4, we collect personal data directly from our licensors for business purposes, including for performance of business operations, management and administration, and legal and regulatory compliance. We do not use personal data for commercial purposes. We disclose personal data to third parties for the business purposes described above
Subject to exceptions detailed in the CCPA, as a California resident, you have the right to request: (i) deletion of your personal data; (ii) correction of inaccurate personal data; (iii) to know/ access the categories of personal data that we collect about you, including the specific pieces of personal data; and (iv) to know the categories of personal data disclosed for a business purpose.
Submitting a request
You may ask us to disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal data over the past 12 months. Once we receive and confirm your identity as a user of our Service, we can disclose that information to you. You may also make a request to have that information erased or deleted.
You may make such requests by completing this Request Form or you may call us at 1-833-999-1048, during regular business hours in California. If no one picks up, we are probably busy with another user, so please leave a message with your name, query and contact number for us to return your call.
You can make a request for your information twice every 12 months. If you are making an erasure request, it will help us if you include details of the information you would like erased. We may need to ask you for additional information to fully identify you. If we can’t identify you, we may not be able to erase your information.
Please note that if you request that we remove your information, we may retain some of the information for specific reasons, such as to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, and as required by law. Furthermore, some information is never completely removed from our databases due to technical constraints and the fact that we regularly back up our systems. Therefore, not all of your personal data will ever be completely removed from our databases.
We will respond to you on these requests as quickly as received your note but it may take us up to 45 days. If we need more time than that, we will let you know.
We will not discriminate against you for submitting a rights request.

Authorized Agents
To the extent that you elect to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, they must provide appropriate documentation including written signed permission from you, proof of your identity, and verification of their identity; or a valid, designated power of attorney as defined under the California Probate Code.
