Prepping for Your Sales Call - The Right Way

You have an important sales call scheduled with a company CEO. What now?

You can’t wing it. Where do you start getting all of the information you need together? How do you do that research? How are you going to have the right answers? We have got you covered.

Here is a quick tip list to keep you on track and allow you to easily prep for the call. Print it out, share it, save it.

Our Tips

  1. Learn about the person you are speaking to. Research them on LinkedIn, news articles, find their public social media to find out what their focus is. Know the person you are talking to before you pick up that phone or initiate that video call. (Owler provides CEO info on its company pages).

  2. Know the company and all of its recent news and wins. Research its latest news, funding, acquisitions, announcements, and PR. (We aggregate that on Owler for you - and you can get it emailed to your inbox with our Owler Max account).

  3. Dive deep into the company’s product and how your product will help them. How are you going to address their pain points?

  4. Provide your client with info, but make sure to ask questions in return to show your interest and understanding of the company.

  5. Have one main point that you need to focus on during your pitch. Do not let yourself get derailed and off-topic (it’s really easy!) Focus your pitch on the problem you can address and the solution you provide.

Our quick bonus tip? Write it all down in bullet points on sticky notes attached to your screen so you make sure you have everything you need right there in front of you without switching tabs or getting distracted.
